યુક્રેન પર રશિયાના હુમલાનો આજે ત્રીજો દિવસ છે. રાજધાની કિવ સહિત યુક્રેનના તમામ મહત્વના શહેરોમાં વિસ્ફોટ થયા છે. રશિયાના સૈનિકો રાજધાની કિવમાં પ્રવેશ્યા છે અને યુક્રેનિયન સૈનિકો સાથે તેમની સામ-સામે લડાઈ શરૂ થઈ ગઈ છે. આ દરમિયાન યુક્રેને 300 રશિયન પેરાટ્રૂપર્સથી ભરેલા 2 વિમાનને તોડી પાડવાનો દાવો કર્યો છે. આ પહેલા સંયુક્ત રાષ્ટ્ર સુરક્ષા પરિષદ (UNSC)માં રશિયા સામે નિંદાનો પ્રસ્તાવ પાસ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. આ પ્રસ્તાવની તરફેણમાં 11 અને વિરોધમાં 1 મત પડ્યા હતા. ભારત, ચીન મતદાનમાં ભાગ લીધો ન હતો.
ત્યારે સોશિયલ મીડિયામાં એક ફોટો વાયરલ થઇ રહ્યો છે. યુક્રેનની આર્મીમાં એક 80 વર્ષના વૃદ્ધ જોડાયા છે. અને તેમની પાસે ૨ ટીશર્ટ એક પેન્ટ અને એક ટુથપેસ્ટ અને લંચ માટે સેન્ડવિચ લઇને જઈ રહ્યા છે. અને તેમનું કહેવું છે કે એ આ પોતાના પૌત્ર માટે કરી રહ્યા છે.

80 years old = he was born when Ukraine was part of the USSR and it was fighting against Nazi occupation. 1991: he saw the independence of Ukraine. The things this man has seen & survived. Now he’s willing to do what men do—fight against anything that threatens those they love.
